Robots are a group of complex contraptions in Barony, created by the Tinkering Kit and employed by the player inside the dungeon. There are a wide variety of robot types, ranging from basic distractions to complex utility items that assist the player in trekking through the dungeon.
Description[]
Robots are unified by their limitation of being found only by having players use the Tinkering Kit to craft them. The term also excludes Traps, as those tinkering items have their own set of rules and uses that radically differentiate themselves from true robots, such as not being able to be upgraded or use the robot's unique quality scale to increase power with greater quality levels.
Image | Robot | Description |
---|---|---|
Dummybot | A stationary defensive-style robot that provokes nearby enemies to attacking it. Allows other robots and the player to attack distracted enemies in relative safety. | |
Gyrobot | A mobile robot that functions like a tactical companion. Does not attack enemies or be attacked by enemies (but will atack allied player if it hits yo with FF dealing low damage)
, but provides a variety of utilities with increasing quality. | |
Sentrybot | Launches crossbow bolts at enemies that enter their vision. The bolt acts differently to most other ranged arrows, in that the shots do not arc downwards over distance traveled. The physical damage counterpart to the Spellbot. | |
Spellbot | Launches damaging magic bolts at enemies that enter their vision. The magical damage counterpart to the Sentrybot. | |
Noisemaker | Separate from both Traps and proper Robots, Noisemakers have only one set quality. When cast out by the player, it begins playing a noise to attract nearby monsters to its location, with the ability to inflict confusion once enemies reach it. Can break after finishing its song. |
Quality Levels[]
Each robot is unlocked as the player’s Tinkering and Perception stats increase, producing a robot of Simple quality if immediately crafted once unlocked. As these stats grow however, greater levels of quality become available to craft, often after increments of 20, beginning at Simple quality before maxing out at Artisan quality.
The complexity of each robot’s function increases alongside its quality level, where new commands become available when interacting with the robot, having all possible options unlocked once they have achieved Artisan quality. General damage and durability also correlate with quality level.

Tips and Trivia[]
- Sentries can target allied NPCs (perhaps just robots, to be confirmed) with the Attack command, shooting them once.
